Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister within Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix's athletic talent was apparent from the time she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her first tryout she came in second place in the 200 meters during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. She set an Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest athlete to win the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She was consistently at the top of the podium in all events.
